Welcome to YellowTail Electrical

Named after an icon that knows this country

There’s something unmistakably Australian about the call of the Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo. Across our sunburnt country, from the subtropical rainforests and rolling green hinterland down to banksia, coastal heathlands and long stretches of golden beaches, these magnificent birds thrive in the sunshine, yet their distinctive calls and flights ahead of changing weather have long been regarded as a warning of approaching storms. It’s this connection to nature, the elements and the Australian landscape that inspired our name — YellowTail Electrical.

Just as the black cockatoo reminds us to be aware of changing conditions, we believe great electrical work is about thinking ahead. Protecting homes and businesses, preparing for the elements and delivering safe, reliable electrical solutions. From harnessing the power of the sun to reducing waste and creating installations built to last, we combine modern technology with quality craftsmanship and respect for the environment.

Proudly local to the Northern Rivers, our commitment is simple: thoughtful advice, dependable service and quality workmanship that protects what matters most.

Inspired by nature. Powered by the sun. Built for the elements.

Solar & battery sizing

How much solar and battery do you need?

Most of a household's power gets used after the sun goes down. Solar covers your daytime load, and a battery stores the extra for the evening, so you buy less from the grid at peak rates. Switch your hot water and heating to efficient heat pumps and the sun does even more of the work.

Slide to your numbers for a ballpark. Your quarterly bill shows your daily usage in kWh. An SAA-accredited designer confirms the real sizing on a site visit.

Solar & battery incentives

  • Federal solar rebate (STCs)Takes around $1,500–$2,000 off a typical 6.6 kW home system, applied straight off your quote. It shrinks each year until it ends in 2030.
  • Federal Cheaper Home BatteriesAround 25% off an eligible battery fitted by an SAA-accredited installer. The discount drops every six months.
  • NSW battery incentiveExtra money back when you connect your battery to a virtual power plant.
  • Hot water & heating upgradesHeat pump and solar hot water systems earn federal STCs too, and NSW Energy Savings Scheme rebates can cut the cost of heat pump hot water and efficient reverse-cycle air con.

Lower bills, lights on through the next storm, and more of your home running on Northern Rivers sunshine. Rebates shrink over time, so the sooner you switch, the more you save.

We apply the rebates for you and confirm exactly what you're eligible for in your quote. Businesses may also be able to claim solar as a tax deduction, so check with your accountant. Read more: Solar rebate (STCs) · Cheaper Home Batteries · NSW battery incentive

A typical 3–4 person home uses around 15–25 kWh a day.
Tap any you're adding. We'll size the system to suit.

A rough guide only. Roof space, shading, your tariff and your switchboard all change the answer. Book a site visit for a proper design and fixed quote.
